The e-learning market is saturated with gamified but often repetitive applications. Our client, Thibaud Hulin came to us with a strong and ambitious pedagogical vision “using cinema and the emotion of movies to teach English”.
The challenge was not just pedagogical, but technical
How to transform a passive viewing experience into active learning?
How to integrate complex interactions (quizzes, vocabulary, context) over a video stream?
How to meet strict specifications while innovating on the User Experience (UX)?
The Solution
Working with my team, Créatopia, I led the transition from a “Cinema-style” Figma prototype to a robust functional platform.
Built on a WordPress core with a deeply customized Tutor LMS to support “Movie Scene” learning formats.
Fine-tuned media loading and database queries to ensure a seamless streaming and learning experience. AI-Generated Assets: Leveraged Midjourney for consistent 3D branding and character design.
Developed a virtual tutor (via API) to provide real-time explanations of linguistic and cultural nuances.
Integrated tracking systems to monitor student progress, providing the data necessary to refine pedagogical paths and improve conversion rates.
The Result, acclaimed by the Jury
The project resulted in a functional MVP, ready for pilot user testing. The final defense validated the relevance of our technical and graphic choices.
Grade: 17/20 with a distinction “Remarkable Work”.
Feedback: “Visually very accomplished final render” and “Excellent fit for the client’s needs.”
